 I hope that voters realize that this meets the challenge for desolation. I also hope that I captured the wonderful sunset light filtering through the old house and reflecting off the walls. I used f8 and long exposure which gave the saturation of color and sharp detail. I also used my graduated gray filter to add drama to the sky. Thank you.

Beautiful shot. I love the slight hint of red and pink tones. I've never tried a long exposure on a subject during the day. I will have to give it a try.

Even those this is a desolation image and the house has seen better days, it does seem very calming. I could see this hanging on a wall somewhere. The clouds add a nice drama to it and the various colors on the walls match the sky. The only thing I would have preferred would be that the roof of the building not be so dark. There seems to be missing slates (or similar) and I think that would have helped with the overall feel. Normally I dont like 'big' borders, but it works here.

Nice shot. Meets the challenge. Good colors. I normally don't like such a wide border but it works with this one. DOF good. Composition good. Good luck with the challenge.

This is the one of the best empty buiding I've seen so far. The cloud helps create the mood of desolation.
