Greetings from the Critique Club Matt.
Beautiful sunset with good colors. Horizon seems nice and level and the rocks are a nice touch. Has most of the elements for a good score at DPC - which your 6.3179 shows.
For an image like this to score very high here you'll have to let the sun go down just a bit more to get that rich color that the voters love. I think a higher crop showing more sky and a bit of the top of the foreground rock would've been better received. I'd also like to see it as I mentioned above but hit the rock with a bit of lighting to bring it out more. The shot itself is truly beautiful but seems to lack the "punch" that people need to be taken aback.
Overall a very nice shot indeed!
Thanks for the opportunity to critique this image Matt.
Cheers - Phil

Really pretty scene. I like the calmness of the water (or was it a long exposure?), with that the reflection of the colors makes this extra special. |

This is a very nice sunset--but I've seen thousands of pictures of nice sunsets. In order to keep my attention, a sunset shot has to have something special about it. I'm sure many people think the rocks in this are something special but I don't. |
