Originally posted by Kavey: A lovely image with a lovely peaceful aspect. In terms of minor improvements (in my opinion only of course) I'd like to see the person move just a touch to their right so they don't appear quite so squashed in to the side, though not too far, certainly not centred. I'd also prefer if their shoes weren't so evident - black shoes would look best. That said, perhaps this is a candid rather than a posed shot, in which case, all I can say is, well spotted!! |
This was candid. There where 3 kids playing in the windows and this was one of the many picture I took of them. |

The architectural element of the wonderful window is what brings this shot to life for me. I completely love the shot. Fits the challenge well, definitely does convey a feeling of aloneness (as in the title), but also simplicity, starkness and the beauty of old church architecture, something that I love. Choice of black and white is perfect for this, and I do love the composition. One of my highest rated this week. |

I like the cropping of this a lot - it suits the image well. I also like the shadows (of course, I'm a sucker for B&W). Nice photo. Good luck. |

Interesting idea. Perhaps crop off the bottom half of the person and the hidious white shoes. At the top it appreared to be such a traditional picture until the trainers came into view! Nice one though. |

While this shot is not how I interpreted the challenge, I have to give it a 7 for composition and mood. |

I think the way you cropped this works well. There's nothing distracting in the picture. |

This is nice. I like the vertical crop and the somber mood. |
