This abandoned home was waiting for destruction for a new housing development. It caught my eye and I felt it must have a picture in it. When I got close to it I could smell that it had been unkempt while still being inhabited. It was filthy. I wondered if the poster was representative of the childs dreams, or if she was showing her love of family even with the swaller of the household. I sure wish I had a wide angle lens at times.

I got it, and gave it a 7. Very much implies Desolation to me not to mention that it was a difficult shot to expose correctly. Should have been much higher in the list IMHO.

I am ashamed for the ranking it got. This is one of those rare photographs which are clearly beyond 'likes and dislikes'. The picture just 'is'.

I fail to see how so many can see less.

This is one of the saddest shots I have seen. And your title is poignant. I think it will likely be overlooked on dpc but it certainly has 'something'. Good find.

cropping a bit off. either less of the ceiling, or much more of the ground. otherwise, good idea.

I get the desolation in this shot and I like it, but somehow the composition is a bit strange. I wish the drawing that gives the picture its title were clearer.

OMG, that child's painting is very haunting in this setting. Wow, I got chills. Really nice work. 10 because I really felt this.

I can see that this seems to be an abandoned house but am not sure about why this particular scene has been selected other than that sweet kid's paining left behind.
I think a different viewpoint may have resulted in an image which was stronger overall.

The picture on the wall adds so much to the desolation here. Great job.

this is very stark and raises all sorts of questions...including why you chose the title you did

Good lonely feeling. I might have tried darkening it to see if I got more impact.

The kid drawing fills the emptiness to the photo. The dirty white walls create the feeling too. But I would try to avoid the floor in the near end room. It's distracting. Setting the camera lower and tilting up may help.

great shot. The art on the wall tells me that once life was abundant here, but now it is gone. Great idea and shot for this contest!
