Challenge: Refraction of Light (Basic Editing III)
Camera: HP PhotoSmart R707
Location: Saratoga Lake
Date: Apr 3, 2006
Galleries: Abstract, Water
Date Uploaded: Apr 4, 2006

A happy accident of previous photography led me to take this reshoot of my picture Looking Past The Surface.
So, this is a picture of the bottom of the lake with the sun shining on the wind blown surface of the water, creating these lines of light across the bottom.

Neat imaged, adjusted levels then desaturated the whole picture, added a bit of blue with curves, USM, then sharpened/blurred, then a trip through neat image again which evened out the picture nicely, croped and saved.

The part about this picture I like the most is how at the bottom the rocks are clear with only faint lines of light then gradually until you get to the top of the picture the rocks arent visable anymore, its only the ligh and the more i looked at and into this picture i was lost in the light and it was actually kinda soothing. I hope this can connect with others as well.

I know this has been done before, but has it ever been done so perfectly? 10.

Nice. As my eyes move up, the refraction of light makes it less obvious what I'm looking at.

Nice patterns. Needs something as a focal point, big hotspot, a lilypad, floating flower, fish, frog, etc.

Wonderful image. Too bad this is basic editing otherwise you could brighten or clone that dark area in the upper left corner.
