this guy is a fully grown great horned owl who has a busted up foot but is in rehab. i was fortunate enough to be able to take a shot of him, he wasn't as thrilled as some models, so there was a gentalmen in a blue shirt holding him for me.....the blue shirt is the reason for the tight crop and the burning around the eadge of the bird...i also had planed on blacking the eadges to creat more pop with the yellow eyes.

i pick him to photograph because of his steller eyes. i was lucky i brought my camera with.

thanks for the comments views and votes.

Those wise ol' eyes of this owl are definately captivating and boldly yellow against the dark backdrop. The stare is arresting. I think the composition could be strengthened if you increased the depth of field such that there is more sharp relief details to the beak and the feathers that surround this bird's face.

ooooooooooooo, spooky! But I like spooky, LOL! Very nice, very nice indeed. The clarity in the eyes is very nice but the soft around is more distracting then helpful to me. Also there almost seems to be a straight line across the beak from light to dark. An 8

Wow. This is one of the most compelling images of this challenge, indeed that I have seen in a long time. The eyes seem to stare straight through the viewer. Well done. This image is in my top group. I scored it very highly indeed.
