A motif on the front of a building on the tarmac at O'Hare airport. We happened to be taxiing past it, so I snapped a shot. Twilight, this was really challenging to get good contrast out of.

Predicting most common comments, just for fun:

- Bad contrast
- Bad lighting/underexposed
- Should rotate it counterclockwise a few degrees
- Why didn't you pick a fashion fad, like bellbottoms or platform shoes?
- Reflections in windows are distracting
- You should have cropped the doors out

Eloise,

I noticed that you predicted a few of the most "common" comments. I am curious then, why you didn't share why you chose this shot, with these colours from this angle?

I am not fond of the angle, I don't think its adding anything to the picture, the colours are indeed very washed out without enough contrast and I don't see why the doors were included. You could have gotten a much more abstractly "art deco" feel from the photo if you had just included the windows (and the wings, but I don't feel those are particularly "art deco", because I usually think of clean lines and weird angles when I think of art deco)

Just a few of me "hit me" thoughts! I hope they help.

I love the wings!

I like your composition. I think it might look even better straight on. ( I usually shoot at an angle to add depth. But, in this case with everything left and right being equal, I think it should be shot straight at it.) Love the wings! Would love to see a close up..

"Hit Me" indeed. I see nothing noteworthy about this shot.

good idea and an interesting example, just appears to be a bit to washed ouy

you should use brightness and contress to clear it up just a tad. 8

it might have been better if this shot is taken symetrically. The angle used coupled with the cropping is not to my liking. Maybe you should have tried standing straight-on and took a shot. 6

this image is so grey.. the tones are grey the subject matter is grey.. Focus is too soft.. Maybe it would have been better to concentrate on the clock and the wings and get in closer?

Not a bad concept. The focus is a bit off or it is a lower end cam. I would have kept more to the windows and croped out the buildings.4.

Not very sharp-?hand held? I don't really care for the crop as it's uneven and not level. I think this is worth re-shooting, the wings are interesting.
