I guess you took this picture at night, which is why you used the flash. A tripod or a hotshoe flash you could direct at different angles would have prevented the overexposure gleams. The overexposure makes the picture a little busy, it's hard to make out the details. |

A historic trend... Your flash was a bit harsh on several items. Not sure where my eye is supposed to focus, subject? |

Flash lighting is really killing this - flattens out all the textures, leaves almost no shadow to give a sense of depth, and fades out nastily into the corners of the room: I'm also quite surprised you were allowed t use it in Arlington House. Would LOVE to see this with the natural light fro that window - could look amazing. |
