What a great tree! Terrific composition (as usual). The blues in the sky are a tad too much for my personal taste and I would probably run the sky through Neat Image to reduce some of the noise (again I have a tendency to overdo that too). Still I scored this an 8 during the challenge - congrats on the high score. Great image.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Aesthetic: Beautiful capture of clouds, but I dont know why something seems to be lacking in rest of the image. Maybe its a mix of "almost" silhoutte and regular picture which is confusing (to my mind atleast!)

Technical: Again - good focus on clouds, but somehow rest the image looks a little out of focus. Did you used too much of neat image? Seems like some of the fine details are blurred the way neatimage does when used with high luminance. At tips of branches, the details seem to be fuzzy.

Challenge: For sure this fits the challenge but following the rule of thirds "might" have added more punch.

Conclusion:Certainly an above average composition but like few other comments, details on ground are lost somewhere. The overall score seem to be fair for the submission.

I'm by no means expert in area of photography. My comments are purely based on my limited understanding of technology and art behind digital photography. Apart from doing detailed evaluation of your submission, my intent is to learn different styles of photography by critically evaluating selective submissions. If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via email or PM.

Wish you a great day!

maybe bluriness of the pictrure was intended; either way, the shot isn't working for me: I don't like the composition with the tree on the left, and my eye hunts for detail in this landscape, anf finds none. THe colour of the sky is overly saturated, while the colours of the ground and of the tree are dull

Lovely. This is a classic. The shape of the tree almost looks like it's been formed out of an artist's hands. Great colors. Bumping up on 2nd review. 9

I can't quite put my finger on what it is about this that I'm not super crazy about. I really like the tree.. the color of the sky is really nice.. I think it may be something with the ground. The bright rocks(?) at the bottom catch my attention nearly as much as the tree.. and I think the perspective is what's throwing me. It looks a little like the tree is too small for the picture. Overall, however, I like it, and I love the tree. :)
