This may not be my best photo of the year but it is the one that means the most to me. The model is Levi, my cousin's son. This was taken at my cousin's wedding. I don't have a large family so being there for their special day was very important and moving for me. I have a large print of this photo and despite having nowhere appropriate to put it up yet it is something that will travel with me.

Very strange object floating near his head. I guess it's someone in the darkness holding a wine glass (unless you added it in PP).

So that is toast and jam on his face? Oh a glass in mid air behind him. It was almost lost.

We must look after our world, just for the sake of our future generation. A strong message here, and I like this image.....

Very nice portrait except for whatever is over the child's head. That is very distracting. Other than that, great job.

Beautiful black and white tones! I'm assuming that the object in the upper left corner is a hand holding a glass (hence the title?). This is not readily apparent though, and therefore serves as more of a distraction than an enhancement. My eye gets pulled away from the main image to ponder the floating object. That being said, the image of the child is just beautiful and you achieved an exceptional tonal range throughout!

great picture of the kid - but I'm not sure the floating wine glass helps

The thing above/behind his head is distracting and would be easy to clone out.

adorable. Wonderful choice for B&W- I love it. Perhaps clonning out what ever it is above the curly head would have improved it, but it is still a great capture.

That object over the girls head is distracting but the picture is still great.

simply gorgeous... love the b/w tones... im giving you a 10 as this community rates low on kids,( no offence to anyone in particular ) and this one is just brilliant.... 10

This wasn't one of my favorites of this model, if I remember, but a well done shot. I'd have cropped more off the top and cloned out that distracting element above him.

bump to 8.

I like it better without the adult's hand in the background. I know that alters the meaning of your title, bu tthe hand just kinda floating there with no interaction doesn't add anything meaningful to the shot for me. The child is beautiful and the processing in the image is just beautiful. 7

Very nice shot! Is that a wine glass toasting in the background? I can't quite make it out. Perhaps a bit dark overall but still a great photo :)

Great job. Wonderful subject. Nice job having the child separated from the background. The object over her head is slightly distracting.

nice candid - he seems oblivious to you shooting his photo

yeah i still like this better than the colour edit. ;) beautifully contrasty with lots of texture. Clever title and inclusion of the wine glass.

Couldn't figure out what was in the background until I read your title. I think the image would've been a stronger one without that glass and hand. Black and white works well here, like the tonality range.

Lovely - b/w effort, subject, the globes a nice touch. I sort of actually hope this was a snapshot and converted. Either way, it was brilliant. 10/10 and my first perfect score for the challenge.
