Greetings from the Critique Club
Welcome to DPC. You're doing very well with just three entries!
It's my pleasant job to critique your Red Milk Eruption. Pleasant because I can find only good things to talk about. The image meets the challenge spectacularly and you nailed that 'splash' effect. Some of your commentors wondered about the bubbles or froth. I think it gives it authenticity and adds to the interest. So that's another vote for good job.
Yes, the composition could be different.. If you had posed the drop in the center so as not to reveal the rim and sides it would been another approach. But, I think you need the frame of reference of that rim to make the image 'read' well.
Finally, it looks as if you either achieved this effect on the first try or had the tedious task of refilling the milk container again and again. My hat's off to you, either way you did it.
My best wishes for continued success in DPChallenge. |

That red looks lethal in that milk but hey, it is a lovely burst with stop action to boot. |

Well time and lit. Very nice detail and good composition with the positioning of the drop. |

"Got Blood?" Good hues. Great bubbles and blippits. |

I know it's hard to keep milk from frothing up, but the froth really detracts from the photo. Also, these drip/drop photos are getting so overdone you've really got to do something visually stunning to score with them. |

Fluid dynamics can make for quite an intersting shot. I like the color play here and the shape of the splash you've captured. IMHO the bubbles in the milk are a little distracting and may even hinder the effects of the splash effect. Perhaps shooting this with another fluid like Calpis may elminate the protein bubbles found in milk? Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless |

Wonderful. The red in the milk looks quite nice. I don't like the cropping very much, but is an overall good shot. 7 |

I would have preferred this image to have been cropped tighter, so as to not see the edges of the cup... I also not sure about red in the milk. |

Nice balance in detail between the color and the white. |

It seems your splash has been lost in the background which is a pity because these are so hard to do. A slightly lower camera may have made it stand up with the white of the milk behind it |

This is totally bizarre! The title is priceless in its deadpan approach. It gives me a "WTF?" moment. The whole concept here is so off-the-wall I can't stop grinning. Technically, I'm not thrilled, the composition seems off, the whole thing's a tad flat, but you by GAWD have an actual "burst" of color here :-) Good score from me. |
