A friend and I rescued this Northern Water Snake from a local lake, to apply first aid to an injury on its neck. If you look real close you can see some white cream on the neck, which is covering a wound. We will be releasing the snake back to the same place on the lake in about one week. This photo was taken just to record the first aid treatment, but I thought it might be interesting for this challenge too.

Good shot but I don't see the question.

Meets the Challenge? Not really, your subject is holding a snake up in front of a house. The only question that I can think of is it a wild snake or a domesticated snake?
Technical : This is the best part of your image. The composition is fairly interesting with the angles of the house and the sinous lines of the snake.
Creative/Artistic: If someone was afraid of snakes, this may have some impact on them.

Is this a poisionous snake? (Is that the question?) It's a really good picture of the snake and hand (except you clipped the finger), but that background really doesn't help. (You need to ask somebody to take down the xmas lights...) 7 Rob the Swash

Super composition and macro point of view. Nice touch to have the finger out of the frame. Makes it seem more natural and out of control.

This really doesn't raise any questions for me. You took a picture of someone holding their pet snake. It's a nice enough image, but doesn't seem to me to fit the contest much. Good lighting, though, and I like the house unsharp in the background.

Is the question as to what kind of snake this is? Or why you have christmas lights up in July? lol. I think I'd prefer to see the interesting side of the snake. We can't really see his head or the lovely pattern on his back. The underside of him is kind of dark as well, taking away some detail. Lighting conditions look a little harsh, as can be seen around the edges of the fingers that are on the sky. DOF is good to get the house out of the way and make it non distracting, but your house is leaning, so it makes it distracting anyway. Big snake though. Definately interesting subject, just not displayed in the most interesting way. ~Heather~

Careful, you're holding that a bit long in the neck.
excessive crop.
