Nice composition. Changing the DOF would have improved this pic. Seems a bit out of focus. |

Clearly the best of all the "City Character" images. This is a terrific candid portrait (well, if there was any posing and preparation done to stage the shot, it was pretty minimal, so let's call it a candid). As well as the fine character study of Gus' face, clothes and fingers, there is just enough visible in the background to put Gus firmly in context as the archetypal city street newsstand operator. Classy work. Looks like the street master Pawdrix (if you're not, I assure you my mistake is a compliment). |

This has gotta be the same grizzled guy as the other newsstand entry. What coincidence! Nice shot, clear focus, but he's cuter from a more distant perspective, I think ;-) |

Good subject matter - and good exposure! You brought out the essence of this person who survives working on the street.

this picture would be great in showing emotions and the life that this person has gone through but, the blur distracts from that. its an ok picture as is but it would be amazing if at least his eyes were sharp. it would let you connect with this very interesting character. see if you can walk by that newstand again... |

Nice job. To me his face looks a bit distorted. were you using a teleconverter? i was just wondering b/c you have wonderful DOF, but the face looks a bit off. Nice job though! |

Nice shot. What an awesome subject, nice find. He is quite a character, I feel very drawn into the shot, great interest factor. Strong composition. Maybe taste, but possibly a touch of usm, a little sharper might be a slight improvement? Very good though, nice job :-) |

Good portrait of city dweller. The gloves and cigarette speak volumes without the nees of a title. With a bit sharper focus, I would have scored this higher. As is, nicely done. |
