 Taken at the studio set up shared by members of the photography club I belonged to. I let my membership go inactive due to finances, and asked my lovely daughter to go with me one more time before the membership lapsed.

We had a blast playing photographer and model. This photo was actually processed quite some time following the shoot. The original has a very unattractive pose to it, but only later did I pay attention to the expression and decided I really liked it. So, I did some rotating and cropping and really liked the results.

The color version is also nice, but this tone seems to somehow convey the sense of "strong" and "confience" better.

I used two softboxes for lighting. A larger one to the left of the camera and a smaller one on the right. We had a fan going to add a bit of hair movement and I think that's one of the things I like best about the shot.

Editing:
Rotate and crop. Cloned at different levels to help complexion a bit. Brightened and sharpened eyes. Slight Neat Image. Changed color to this sepia type tone. Worked some more on levels to brighten the skin tone a bit. Blurred the background, resized and added border.

Hard to choose a favorite, but I really like this one.

Excellent diagonals on the wall. They help the model give this photo motion that standard horizontals would have killed.

I like the angle of the bricks in the background, and the eyes really stand out well in the shot, so overall a very nice portrait :)

I think I remember this shot :-) Nice one. Great model, very fitting title. I definitely see 'confidence' in her eyes, appearance, and stance. Good processing and composition. I like how the bricks in the background are slanted, adds good dynamics to the image. Great job!

not a great background...this would have been amazing with a white background or similar as she has a pretty face and great eyes that have relly connected with the lens...so choice of background will hurt the score

She is beautiful! This is such a striking portrait. There's such expression in her eyes. Yes. . confidence. A great title for this. You have captured that very well!
