Really nice idea. Too bad for the flash burnout parts on the coins as well as the burnout table around the forst coin.. |

Main subject is a little out of focus. Too much reflection on the coin and over exposure on the wood. |

Just back for some comments...
Shallow DOF... yes. Unfortunately, I don't think it helped to make anything stand out in this shot. It's just 3 coins on a table. For me, there's nothing very intersting or exciting in this one. The lighting right around the front coin is too bright and I think it detracts from the detail in the coin. Good luck to you! |

try to use a neutral background, solid colour. some textures like wood don't reflect light very evenly. it makes a big difference in the overall appeal of the photo. other than that, good sharpness on the lead quarter. and a canadian, too -- extra points for that!

Highlights look a bit harsh on the table. DOF usage is good, though. |

Pencils, books, and money seem to be a DOF theme... |

Nice idea, but the lighting seems a little too harsh. |
