Hard lesson on this one...make sure your monitor is set right. when I made this image an added the border , the border was black. I realized when I started to judge I could not see anyone elses. OOPS! also Better understand "Low Key". Getting better all the time. Thanks All!

i'm not sure about this as a low-key image. really it seems more like a poorly lit black and white. it's nearly entirely gray tones, making it very flat in tone. you need more contrast to really make the subject pop. also, you haven't got a catch light in her eyes, making her seem very dark in that area. 4.

I think you got great lighting and detail in the darker areas, but it came out rather grainy throughout the photo. Some noise reduction can make this into a very good portrait

I enjoy the pose, the grain and the composition here. The low key lighting certainly brings out her dark side! Both literally and figuratively. Her expression heightens this notion.

To much light in the background. Maybe a black background with a little light on the face. Seems pretty grainy on her face to from lack of light. She is very pretty. Good luck.

I love this shot. Don't know about black on black, but definitely low-key. Just enough contrast to get a feel for her face, but dark enough to still be kind of soft, moody, and mysterious. Definitely a lovely shot.

This is a lovely black-and-white photograph (if grainy). It's not, however, low-key or particularly black-on-black, having wide expanses of, well, white in it, I'm afraid. In another challenge, and with the graininess fixed, quite probably an 8-9 from me. In this theme, 4.

good composition with your model and the cropping, but the picture seems pretty grainy,.

Pretty, but this seems mire like an underexposed portrait than a low-key one. Sorry. (3)
