 Whelk shell taken in my home studio; lighting was from right with a reflector on left..intentionally taken in high key, and I know it lost a little detail on right but it seemed ok because the image just flowed for me, but I'm ready for all the "blown-highlight" criticism. Cropped, levels, unsharp mask, greyscale, blue duotone conversion.

Beautiful composition. The high-key really works on this one and it almost makes the object merge into the background without losing (much of) details. The angle of light, and shadow, add the depth to the photo. You have got some amazing studio photographs in your portfolio.

Very pretty. I like the tonality of the shell. Maybe just a smidge too "hot" but just ever so slightly.
