I just stumbled across this in your portfolio. Wow - I really like so many things about it. Of course the image really grabs you with the cool blue tones, but I think it's the hands. They are so telling and I love their softness - like one of someone relatively young. But I think what I love most is how you tied this photo into the title - one of Chopin's most beautiful and well recognized pieces. The lighting in combination with the filter is most effective and creates a mood of mystery and a sense of incognito, as we can only see the midriff and her hands. Nice!!! |

The theme of 'moonlight sonata' in this shot was derived from the way i thought the shadows cast a piano-like image across my model :) this was just strengthened when I added the blue tint... |

this is a great shot, john, but something bothers me about it. i think it's the cropping, mostly. it's kind of an awkward section and pose. but everything else is really nice. the focus, lighting, and "shadows" are great. i like the blue tone a lot, and i like that the blacks are very true black. good job. |

I'd prefer to have this person bend backwards to alleviate the crease in the stomach. Still a good shot. |

What a wonderful photo. I love the depth feel you get with the blueish. (8) |

I really like the framing and focus. Hard to determine genger there are so darn many shadows. B/W works well here. |

Voted on this before I found out it was yours. Ha -- to all of the critics!!! the colors fit this shot awsomely (is that a word?), and it is a very simple shot that makes you stop and think, "what does he mean with this picture?" I think maybe if the hands were falling out of the frame I would like it more. |

This is great. I think I would like to see it pulled back *just* a touch to get her full hands in it. |

Very neat image. I like the tint, well composed, good use of the shadows across the body of the subject. Good job! |

Great composition. I like the 'mood' of this photo vey much.....sexy hands, daring with the top button undone, pulling the waist down to show the navel area. Very saucy!! |

Great choice of color! This is where soft focus enhances the subject. |

This photo is very erotic. The blue tint works well with the moonlight suggestion in the title. The veins in the hands and the creases across the tummy are so beautiful. Very nice work. |

Very creative. Excellent sharpness and composition is well done. Framing and texture of hands are enhanced with use of B&W format. |

Finally! Someone who used shadows effectively, without beating me over the head with it. I think you really got the point of the challenge. Nice job. |

The blue cast adds nicely to the mood. I'm not sure what the storyline is here, but it may just be that I'm a bit dense. In spite of that it is nicely composed, proper depth of field and just enough sharpness yet it retains a soft look. |

Hi John. :) //www.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=95487 I like the blue one better also. But I think it would be interesting to see a warm version of your black and white. Yes I'm on photosig also, but I've decided to wait until after the challenge to post my pictures there as well. //www.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=97708 |
