 Thanks for all the great comments. This picture did better than I thought it would: the colour contrasts are not as obvious as I would have hoped , in that I did not have many complimentary colours next to each other (the reason why I was going back to re-shoot). The man in the picture is a stranger, but necesary, I thought, to create a sense of scale.

Took a few photos at this inflatable installation on the South Bank next to Tower Bridge on Bank Holiday Monday. Saw the challenge, and decided to go back to re-shoot a couple of shots yesterday, but the whole thing had been dismantled and taken away. Had to coax one of my shots from last Monday into shape.

Desaturated a bit (!), had thankfully shot RAW, so recovered some missing highlights and boosted the mid tones without too much trouble. Some moderate sharpening and de-noising to get rid of in-camera noise (the place itself was smooth - I wanted to capture that). Resized and cleaned a few stray pixels resulting from exposure manipulation and noise treatment. Some more sharpening and save for web.

They still have those installations? I got some good (slide) shots back in 1984 at the Barbican Centre, though it was a much lower and more tunnelled affair. But great image, and the person really adds to the atmsophere of this strange world of colour. Congratulations on your high placing.

Really nice finish here. I love this image. Definitely one of the very strongest color-contrast shots. I'd sort of expected it to ribbon, and it nearly did.

Well I see, not as many people found the guy as distracting as I. After going back over it I realized the guy may be more of an asset to the composition than a distraction. Well congratulations, and its well-deserved.

First of all, this is excellent exposure. Great colors, and this fits in well with the subject. I do have to say, the inclusion of a figure really takes away some of the inherent mystique and aura of this photograph, especiallyin regular street clothes.

Nice one Matt. This place looks fantastic - we need it to educate all the other voters out there exactly what colour is.
Technically brilliant on the reds, a bit dark on the greens and too many midtones on the blues, but who cares.
Should place very high IMHO (am I biased? - probably)
