Needs a little more contrast. Nice angle. Great lighting, texture. |

generally good exposure and composition; most major flaw is the white of the concrete bench frame. |

Some very nice compositional ideas here, but I think could have been improved. I like the arrangement of objects in the upper right quadrant of the image. The hanging shoes are a great compliment to the mit/ball/bat. However, the fact that these objects are only a minor part of your photo seems off balance. Rather, I'd have liked to see you come in much tighter on the objects of interest, perhaps making a compositional arrangement where one of them was the defacto focus (one of the shoes, the ball, whatever), but at the same time allowing us to see the textures and detail on the individual objects. Mits, balls, shoes are loaded with interested textures that we just can't see here. Final point, color vs. black and white: I just don't think this image works as a BW as much as it would have with color. Perhaps you went BW because the colors were drab? It's possible that my tighter composition idea might have carried the BW idea better but I'm not sure. It's a tough call. Good shot. |

Nice arrangement, but the chainlink hurts you. That busy pattern is only good if it is the subject, it rarely enhances as a BG, unless way, way out of focus. |
