I think shoes are suppose to be protection for the feet, so this concept doesn't work for me.But it's a nice angle on the foot.

great imagery.

If the foot and the shoe print were intended to be the point, then you should have cropped in on just that. It took me quite a while to get this because of all the other distracting elements.

I see what you tried to do here but it needs more contrast to be effective.

dunno... the challenge call is for shoes... I think this shot is a bit out of topic. It would be more interesting if the left foot were not cut. 4

I love everything about this except those green bars! They are very unfortunate, but a great idea and love the colors, angle, and composition for the most part. 5

good idea with the shoe track and the bare foot

barefeet...shoes appear to be missing.. DMtC to me

Appears to side step the challenge theme.

No, the first shoes were probably animal skins or palm leaves. You are already aware that opting out of the theme-wear is costly, but I applaud your independent attitude. Sort of like the first human to keep an actual fire in his cave. (He probably wore skins for shoes) As to your work here. It is chaotic, random and unenlightening. A photograph, like a great teacher, should either 1. Educate 2. Entertain 3. Reflect an emotion or 4. Call in recall to the viewer. This does none of those things. It is the book report of a student who put off the work for too much time and settled for writing from Cliff's notes. 4.

no shoe; i would have removed the hose and leaves

very cool shot and original ~ great job -- 8 --

Very creative but you should have kept the hose out of the shot. Probably would have worked a lot better if it was a tighter crop.

this challenge is about shoes, not footprints

interesting concept

Great idea, very creative! Would be simpler without the hose, though I see how the hose adds to the story.

Great idea. The garden hose is a bit distracting though.
08/31/2005 03:58:54 PM
A little bit boring and the idea is original yet I am distracted by the hose in the background
08/31/2005 02:08:00 PM
Neat idea. Wish the garden hose wasn't in view though.

Sorry but it needs a shoe

I think the title might be more effective if the foot were on grass and not 20th century concrete. The idea is good, but I think you could have executed it a bit better in a natural and not man-made environment.
