This definately says Home Sweet Home, its the welcoming committee. The composition and the entire idea are very good and there is a warm feeling about the entire image.
You can improve on the image by either setting your sharpness on your camera or using an unsharpening mask. The focus is just to soft. The one thing I don't really like is the way there is almost a halo effect around the dogs nose, possibly caused by to much light.
Your idea is good as is the composition just work a little on the focus and you will have a winner.

I had thought about this theme when I read it, little soft though. |

Endearing subject, well lit and posed ... but he's too blurry. If you couldn't get the focus, you could at least make the shot a little smaller to help sharpen it up. |

Nice concept. My only problem is the focus. |

Was the fuzziness of the picture intentional? It was a digital shot, right? Why not try to take it again when you saw the image was blurry? |

It meets the challenge well, I wish you had gotten the focus sharper. I don't see a need for it being soft or I wouldn't say anything. The light is a bit harsh from the window. 6 |

i like the idea, but i see jpeg artifacts around the dawggy's nose... i had the same problem with one of my pictures and somebody suggested that i save the file as an uncompressed tiff, edit it like that, and only save the final copy as a jpeg... it really helped a lot!

I love it, great pic, beutifull lighting. It stirs up some emotion in me. If thats what you were trying to get with this pic then you can pat yourself on the back. 9 |

I like the black and white. This photo just does not make me think of home, however. And it does seem like the pic is a bit OOF. |
