Alot of you have commented about the similarity of M£Ms, well they are not M&Ms they are most DEFINATLY smarties, which apparently you dont get in America, anyway i think most of you are missing the point of the challenge? MAtrix? anyway just thought id settle that.

Alternatively, to Americans, Smarties are a chalky pastel-colored candy that comes in long cellophane tubes.

Tried to edit my previous, didn't work.

Smarties are a British/Canadian candy that is almost entirely like M&Ms.

ive never heard of smarties? i thought i had, but they dont look like those at all. sorry about all the candy people. (i just read your rant in the forums). i'd say the main problem with the shot is the lighting. it especially doesnt have a matrix feel to it and the pill idea was used a lot so the candy prob didn't work to your advantage. you got good clarity and detail in the wrinkle lines in the skin and fingerprints. the candies, however, do not look that tasty.

Every notice how much these look like candy? Hope you don't have kids around!

smarties or m&ms? Not quite what Morpheus offered up...but your own interpretation. Nice close shot, simple. perhaps a bit brightly lit.

those are smarties

Nice image quality and focus. I like how you used the lighting to provide for a clearer image. The colors also add a nice touch to the image overall.

Skittles? LOL! Anyway, nice idea but I feel that the flash is to harsh, reflecting too much light off the skin of the hand. A softer light using a longer exposure might had given a different look and feel.

Those look like candy.

Lighting issues - that very direct light has killed all the contrast and texture. Also holding the hand so flat on to the camera removes most sense of depth from this.

Meets the challenge sort of, but lighting a bit strong and they are obviously sweets.

m&m's? not quite matrix-y
05/21/2003 01:05:41 PM
Lucky those pills don't melt in your hands.
05/21/2003 11:15:39 AM
Smarties? :)

The accurate intricacies of the skin texture and tone provide a point of interest beyond a near banal representation of the two pills, many will, no doubt, focus on.

The successful juxtaposition makes this otherwise straightforward macro worthwhile.

i'll take the one with nuts in it....hmm, choice? what is choice? you already knew the answer, dont you? does it matter anymore for you to ask? LOL (i admit i'm a geek for the matrix too)

The image is really crisp, which is great.
