CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
Very nice composition. You have done an excellent job of "filling" the frame without making it look like part of it was cut out accidentally. I like the "curves" between the two, and how they are "nestled" together. The depth of field is awesome in that the details are visible and clear, and the eye focuses on the "stem" of the onion.
My first impression was that perhaps you needed a more obvious secondary color, though you do indeed meet the challenge. To the casual observer/voter, it may appear yellowish instead of orange which is what I think you were going for. Technically and compositionally, this is an awesome shot, and would look wonderful on the wall of a kitchen or restaurant -- maybe a whole garlic/onion series, even.
Good work and best to you in future challenges.

You can almost live off of onions and love. Appt. title. Your composition works really well here to evoke that feeling. The left onion seems slightly out of focus relative to the right. |

Made me smile. Good subject, composition and lighting and an imaginative title. |

Interesting photo. Excellent detail! Not exactly sure how it plays into the "secondary colors" part of the challenge (is it the orange hue of the right onion?). |

Lovely shot - great detail, texture, light ... pity about the graininess, and a real shame that i can't see that it meetws the challenge in any real sense. I guess at a push you could claim 'orange' for the one on the right ... |

Interesting shot, but the colours just don't seem right to me. |

Where are the secondary colors in this image?? Nice composition, I also like the layout of the onions and the way that they add pattern and texture to theimage. |

Very nicely composed shot. Good lighting and nice warm colors, though they seem to lean more towards the yellow and white than the complementary colors required for the challenge. All in all a very nice photo, good title too. 8 md |

Lovely shot. Wierd, it looked better to me the first time I looked at it. It seems a bit grainy now, may it's at a high ISO. Either way, one of 4 10's this challenge. Great job. |
