Not really sure how this one looks as I am doing it on a laptop in Albuquerque, New Mexico in a restaurant/ I only have Element 2 with me so I couldn't do much in the editing. Didn't matter, I couldn't see it that well anyway. I just had an urge to submit. :)

Thanks everyone, for the comments. Now I know for sure subtlety doesn't go over on DPC. I thought the title would help but alas, No. :)
Feet are literal and metaphorical 'grounders' so to speak, tieing the subject to the ground. Here, while I didn't cut off the ground, I did cut off the feet (look closely), hoping to convey a release of some sorts, an un-attachment of the human form if you will from the Earth. If I had had the opportunity I probably would have cloned just a little sand from under the form making the loss of the feet much more redily seen.

Thanks again for looking and commenting!

I keep hearing the Police song in my head. Nice work. Subtle is just fine.

Listen carefully when the muse whispers in your ear, and follow those urges. This is an excellent image that desreved to score much higher.

I can't see what the illusion is... nice anyway...

Very nice shot. It even works having the model so centered in the frame! Great sky. Did you use a polarizing filter to get the deep blue? Where's the illusion?

Not much of an illusion IMHO...5

Very beautiful picture maybe the subject is a little to central.

This is a lovely photograph.
Compositionally this needs a slight haircut. A little off the top and a tad off the right hand side.
I have put an idea of a crop in my portfolio.

I like the ethereal quality to this shot. The sky is a wonderful color. The figure being centered works in this instance. Nice - imaginative.

beautiful scene - breaking the rule of thirds works well in this photo

I love everything... the colors, the composition... I just feel that it doesn't fit the challenge very well.

I really love the color of teh sky and the sand, smoothin areas and clumpy in others, good shot, and the model, very nice, gret long hair, and white dress, good good good,

It's a great image. Wonderful colors but i don't seem to get what the illusion is? Can you help me out?

Wasn't sure about this photo on the first round, now I can see that the title indicates something sentimental, not exactly an illusion but fair enough and it's a beautiful photo..

Lovely composition and I like the way the sand blends right into the clouds. I think it might have been more effective if we'd been able to see her feet though.

a very pleasant image to view with a different but acceptable (to me) take on the challenge, being centered seems to work here

Very nice picture. I like the clouds and how they convey lonliness with one person in a vast space. I'm not sure I understand what the illusion is supposed to be. This picture appears to be a woman walking on top of a sand dune. I'm sorry if I'm not getting it. Despite the challenge, though, I like this picture. 6

First Impression: Nice colours and use of clouds. Center composition works for me here.
Was I fooleded? I think the illusion idea was for a 'small' person? no? Not clear. Tip, for better footprints, use very early or very late time of day, and try with wet sand.

i think it would draw your eye in more with the footprints leading in from the edge and having the women a little off center
