hmmm...don't see the "unwanted textures" - freckles? Perhaps more directional lighting would have brought out the texture more.

lighting is too direct... It would emphasize the texture more if it was from the side. Then again... most of us would rather not emphasize those kinds of textures.

This is a bit too grainy to really see the "unwanted texture" It may have been intentional. but it looks like a problem with the results of compression (to fit the DPC size requirement). I am learning about this the hard way, so take my comment with a little salt : )

Unique idea but your lack of focus or soft focus hurts this image.

I'm sorry, but this photo just doesn't work. The focus is too soft to really show any texture except blur, and by not showing more of her face, all you see is cheek. There's really nothing there to focus on.
