Challenge: Glass (Classic Editing)
Camera: Olympus C-4000Z
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Date: May 4, 2003
Aperture: F2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/50
Date Uploaded: May 4, 2003

To get this shot, I inverted a glass vase over one of my table lamps. This caused the gradual decrease of illumination along the length of the vase. I then cropped out the bright white portion of the vase and flipped the picture.

This could have looked really good if the lighting was more even.

I like the light creates contrast in your photo.

I really like the composition in this image. It's incredibly simple yet very elegant. For me the weakness is that the object that I'm assuming is made of glass doesn't really say glass to me - the qualities of the glass itself aren't really explored or evident.
Lighting is a little low for my tastes but I appreciate that's perhaps a deliberate decision to strike a certain mood.

Nice and abstract. I like the human quality of that vase. It's got veins.

I really like this, but it's a shame it's so dark.

abstracted too much for me to find anything interesting in the photo. It does have a certain look of elegance though

Nicely fleshed-out ambiguity.

This -by far- is the most outstanding shot in this challenge (8). The infinite progressive change of hue on the right side is incredible! I also like the composition and minimal simplicity of this shot.

Personally, I would have chosen to crop the potentially erotically suggestive part (lower section). Also coz it's getting so dark here, it appears nearly out of focus. But who am I to argue? I bow.

This is cropped so close, and lit so dark, I can't see what's going on.

To me this has almost a pencil on rich paper feel to it. It's like a piece of art. GREAT job ! This will make a great print !
