Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I can't begin to explain how much it means to me that this is now my highest rated photo. It is, by far, my favorite picture.

This is my oldest daughter being, well, my daughter(picture wasn't posed). She is almost four and is truly a free spirit. She was a 9-11 baby and I honestly believe that God has great plans for her. She lights up a room when she walks in and can bring a smile to anyone's face. She's my angel.

It's a simple but very nice photo. It seems like the girl wants to fly or just feel the wind blow. A photo with harmony. Nice work

Most of the children photos in this challenge are just snapshots. This one is well composed, and the lighting really adds to the photo. The subject is not just the child, but her interaction with her surroundings. Keep up the good work.

Outstanding depiction of a child's tentative discovery of independence. The ankle deep exploration, the slightly giddy pose, and the thoughtful composition (shallows below the diagonal & the deep above), make this an effective metaphoric as well as literal depiction of independence. 9

Very nice photo: perfect colors, contrast and exposure. Faming of the model is great, using the out of focus sea as a background. This pic definitely evokes a mood, just not sure it's 'Independence'. But well done.

Well, ya compelled an audible "Awwwww" out of me! This is fantastic. You just need to write a nice personal note or poem on the left there and frame it for her. Beautiful! 10

I like the idea and the contrast between the white dress and the very blue water. The arms also work well with the challenge! I might have cropped it a bit differently so her right arm and legs aren't so close to he photo's edge? I wonder how it looks in B&W??
