like this elephant shot a lot. as mentioned by other commenters, the texturing is great. I also like how there are bits that seem overexposed to me, which I think adds a lot of character to the image.

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

A stunning creature the elephant is! My suggestions would be to take this at more of an angle, tone down the highlights, and not sharpen so much. As for fitting into the challenge theme - it does fit, but does not speak it right out loud without the title.

This is an excellent image. The right lighting, great color, and fantastic sharpnexx/texture,
however if I didn't look at the titly or category it wouldn't make me think of independence.
Its still worthy of a "10". Great craftsmanship. Congrats.

This would have been a good entry for the textures challenge.
The photo seems a bit bright, but that may just be dirt - in any case, I like the idea of the closeup. I wish the eyes were more visible. They look kindof sad.

I'd like this more if it wasn't so 'bright' in the highlights

i think this would fit better in the textures challenge... but nice tones and contrast just seems a bit off topic to me imo.

I think this is too bright and too sharpened, and no unique angle which I haven't seen done a lot in the past. With some darker post-processing this could be a really nice shot however. 5
