Redding, California is a favorite spot for seekers of mountains and lakes. To the East is Mt. Lassen, with its steaming volcanic vents. To the West lies Whiskeytown National Recreation Area at the foot of Shasta Bally. To the North one finds beautiful Shasta Lake, crowned by Mount Shasta and its smaller cousin Shastina. For those preferring the urban environment, Redding has many modern amenities, including bowling, a roller rink, water park and museums such as Carter House, North Valley Art League, and the newly built Turtle Bay museum.

| The image appears a little on the soft side but other than that a typical postcard pic taken from the best angle possible. |

| Not a bad try, but I didn't grade it very highly because there's no real focal point (attentionwise, not technical-photo-jargon) to the shot. The eye is drawn to a featureless expanse of slightly-rippled river. The mountain's too small and indistinct to really be the star; the trees are blurry; the sky's just flat cyan, no interesting clouds to draw the attention. The photo as a whole just doesn't seem to have much of a point, per se. |

| Wow, nice scenery. A river, mountains, some nice trees... Its got it all. This pic lacks just a little sharpness. Otherwise its a nice pic |
