From this far away, it's hard to see any detail or identify the kids anyway; against the tree, I find them a bit hard to see at all.
I don't know that the geography's like over to the right, but if it's a clear view of the water, I think I'd try moving left and shooting them in silhouette against the water and sky. I have a recent shot of some people on a rollercoaster against a so-so sunset and it seemed to work pretty well.

i like the color bars that emerge, the green, then the brown of the bark, then blue of the water...nice image.

Like the subject and the compostion seem alright. Croping from belove would though have made the composition better imho. The light is very hard which makes the colours rather flatt. The bright blue color of the sea is attractive though.

sharp picture but would have preferred closer shot of children

Great take on the challenge. As far as the image goes, I think it is a little clutters. The tree interferes with a clear view of the kids. If you have moved to the left to have the water as a backdrop, I think it may have much improved the image. Seems the lighting was harsh at the time the image was taken. Hate the sun sometimes! Good luck in the challenge!

I love this! It's in a beautiful place, and it makes me feel happy to look at it. The colors are vibrant and pretty, and it definitely says family to me in a challenge where there are a lot of stretches :) Good job! 10

Midday sun is very harsh. It gives too much contrast and makes for a cold picture. I like the idea, but I would have tried this in the hour before sunset. I would have zoomed in on the kids as well. If you couldn't do it at that time, a fill flash would have also helped.

Midday (very bright) sun wasn't kind to you here as it caused many hotspots. I like the composition and the kids playing just screams summertime fun.

It's difficult to expose correctly in bright sunlight, especially if you have a point-and-shoot like me. I'd recommend first focussing/metering on the brightest part of the scene you are taking and then moving the camera into position while holding down the button. This way less will turn out over exposed and you can simply brighten with levels or curves.

Seems a bit overexposed. I'd lose the green in the foreground and zoom in on the kids.

I would recommend getting closer in with this shot. Metering to get the sky color correct would help too.
