Technically this image is pretty good. The picture is sharp in focus. I also like the composition although I would have kept more space on the left. But I like it as it is. You also did a good job on the exposure despite those underneath clouds.
The main problem in my opinion is that this mage doesn't convey too much the idea of transportation. OK this is a picture taken from a plane, but the image is quite static. Of course the clouds didn't help you that day. It would have been different if we could see part of the earth underneath... Without any interesting background, this image is pretty much only a picture of a jet engine... which is not interesting enough by itself in my opinion.
To summarize: it was a good idea which could have lead to a good picture if only we could get to see a background.
Good work anyway. Good luck in the future.

at the risk of incurring too many groans for making bad jokes, the colours here are too... plain. The shot seems to lack any real point of interest, besides the rolls royce sticker on the engine! |

the engine seems wrapped in cotton! the photo seems a little underexposed and soft in focus. |
