Very nice shot. I love the mood of the photo.

The purple dress makes this picture, but once I noticed the woman in red in the background she detracted from the scene.

Interesting grouping in an interesting location. Like the contrast with the black and the colors.

Hehehe doesn't it look like Brother Jezabiah on the far right has a digicam :D

I like to to see the all the people's faces and in the end what are u trying to say with the photo
06/01/2002 06:15:00 PM
Cool scene. The only fault I can find is that I keep wishing there was a girl with a thong swimsuit in the background just to bring out the contrast and whatever reactions these people would have.

You captured a unique scene here. The contrast between the Dunkard dress & the beach houses behind are a real contrast in the differences of people. Good job.

This is my favorite place in the world!

Yes they do look out of place, and so does that person in the red shirt bending down between the two women. It's a cool picture, the shadows might be a little underexposed, but it makes up for a lot of its faults in sheer surreality.
05/30/2002 04:50:00 AM
The only (small) distraction is the boy in the red shirt in the background. Could you have waited until he left, or moved your angle alittle bit so that he was not between the subjects?
05/29/2002 02:35:00 PM
I lingered on this photo for a while, creating a story in my head about these people. That seems to me to define a good photo! (Plus the blues are gorgeous)

Is the guy on the right holding a camera? Shouldn't he have to draw or paint pictures of the beach? A little more centered and it would be great.

Great subject matter. It's too bad the cliffs line up with their heads the way it does. I think it would have been better visually to have had the cliffs either clear the top of their heads of had the heads line up above the cliffs. Great shot though.

yup

this is hysterical. Given the opportunity to 'change' something, I wish the shadows weren't there, but they certainly don't ruin this. Great photo!
05/29/2002 03:22:00 AM
he he ... I hope that isn't a camera he's holding :). I think a tighter crop and less DOF would have worked better. The kids in the water, especially the one in the red shirt are a bit distracting.

Something about this really catches the "people" aspect for me. Nice shot. In my top 5.
05/28/2002 10:55:00 AM
Amish at the beach...who knew? Unusual and interesting subject, good job, This might have been better from a different angle though, in terms of where the shadows fall - One shadow almost covers the second man from the right
05/28/2002 10:16:00 AM
I really feel like the image is off balance. Just about everyone weighs down the right side of the image, and the crop is also heavily to the right side of the image. I'm guessing this was to get the entire shadow of the woman on the left. I can definitely understand that. Maybe if you were able to take another shot with yourself placed a little further to the right..

Must have been a long buggy ride! I like this one. Swing a little to the right, you would have centered your group better and avoided some of the noisy clutter in the upper left corner. Step to your left three steps and center would have been great!
Photo 9 Creativity 7 (if this was a setup, plus 2 points here) People 10 total 9

I like this one a lot. One can feel the interaction between the people. They ARE out of place somehow but sweet at the same time. I appreciate the humor.
Should have cropped the space behind the woman with the blue dress at the left.Maybe only leave the lover buildings on the horizon. But still the bset so far.
05/28/2002 04:52:00 AM
Interesting contrast. Feel the people in the background could have been used to really show the contrast if you'd taken it from a slightly different location - more to the left maybe, to loose some background and have people playing more traditionally in the surf ?
05/28/2002 01:01:00 AM
Nice photo.. I believe that centering them up in the frame would have improved the overall photo just a bit :)
05/27/2002 07:41:00 PM
Great surreal shot - the kid in the red shirt is a bit distracting, a slight change of angle would have removed them and imporved the shot.
05/27/2002 01:10:00 PM
O' my gosh this is funny to see. <lol> How great! Just a wonderful, fun shot and you've done it well. Beautiful colors, clear, clean shot! These are great _people_.
05/27/2002 10:02:00 AM
Hey, Quakers wanna see the Pacific, too! I especially love the matching shawl and skirt set. Do you think the guy in the center (beardless) was some kind of escort or chaperone? What a random thing to see!
05/27/2002 08:39:00 AM
I saw that same suit in Vicky's secret last month.
05/27/2002 05:00:00 AM
if you had taken two steps to the left and gotten rid of those houses while centering the amish folks, and then dropped a bomb on that fucking idiot in the red shirt in the background, this would have been an even better shot.

the waves in the background between the folks in the foreground are a bit distracting.. but obviously that isnt your fault.
05/27/2002 04:46:00 AM
Interesting. Must be real life.
05/26/2002 11:02:00 PM
Wow, very surreal! You did very well in capturing this group of people in such a great location. The composition is just a little off to me.
05/26/2002 09:31:00 PM
The ladies seem very bored with it all LOL ... It's like their thinking...we could be making candles and getting our sewing done instead of looking at endless water in public. LOL...I love this photo !
05/27/2002 06:00:00 AM
Love it!
