Reading the comments before mine and noting this photo came in as 46th place, I think it is sad that some seem to judge based on the subject matter and not on composition or artistic value. Then I note that 8 people give you a score of less than 4 and I can't help but scream. I think that is one reason I stopped contributing.

| I keep flipping this from a 9 to a 10 (sorry about that on score updates! lol) Anyways, I think the focus is just a TOUCH off - this is a SUPERB photo. The colors are just fabulous, the composition is exciting. I will probably keep bouncing back and forth, but for now, 10. |

| The lighting on the water creates an amazing effect which in turn makes for an excellent background. The bird is standing very majestically there, as if you ask it to pose for you like that. I like it, you did well here! |

| Good effort capturing the egret with all the gold glow in the water. The gold seems to overpower the egret's head. A polarizing filter may of helped. |

| I love these birds. The shot is a bit over saturated for my liking, but I do like the shot. Do these birds live in your area? You can shoot again and maybe do a series of them. Wonderful birds. Maybe wind on the water? Would be good with some sky also. Nice work. |

| Very cool photo. What makes it even more interesting is the texture in the photo that comes from the ripples in the water. The water also captures very nice colors that add value. |

| This is a lovely picture...however, the reflection in the water, which is nice, is in fact taking the attention away from the bird. Possibly, since he's a little out of focus, he gets lost. Perhaps sharpening just a little and toning down the color in the water would help in this instance. |

| amazing effect with the golden reflection of the sun a little overexopsed but I don't know if it would be possivle to get the colors so perfect with this pic at a half step darker solid 9 |
