This proves that many times good things happen for those who thoughtfully, thoroughly and patiently go after a shot. I know this was not random or accidental. Your planning, thinking and work was rewarded with one of the most outstanding captures I have seen in a long time. The repetitive slice shapes of alternating tonal quality are so effective in making the statement to define the difference of darkness from light. That lightning pierces the darkness in order to define the contrast, is a master (THE master's) stroke! One of my top three picks of this week's challenge.

Got to love those lightning shots! Horizon could have been straightened.
Not quite convinced that it needed to be quite so dark (even for this challenge)?

Interesting entry.. I like the lighting bolt you've captured, but the entry looks too blue to me.. Not sure if that was your intention. I'll score this an 8.

I too caught lightning in a photo, however yours has a better landscape, and of course the reflection in the water is sweet. GL, i hope the best for ya. I scored ya high in my book. Great colors too.
