Wonderful shot. I like it mixed with the background.

I can't believe mine beat this one. I love this picture. Very unique and I love the colors and contrast. You got ripped here. Keep shooting and good luck.

I missed out on voting on this one, but I would have rated it high. It's unique and interesting, with a narrative quality.

Is that a horse in the background? I like the depth of field used in this shot - very much makes the flowers stand out. However it may have been good in this shot to have not made it so drastic so as to have seen clearly what was behind.

Very nicely done. I can't help but wonder if the horse or pony in the backround isn't named Buttercup. This photo makes a beautiful statement about the beauty that can be found in a pasture. Well done.

Somewhat similar to my photo but with those cool cows. I'm getting killed for my border, and I'm guessing you've got a couple who like it and several who don't. Looks like the focus is sharper on the grain than the poppies, but that could be intentional...

I'm no longer going to use any red/orange/yellow/green borders except as 1-2 pixel accents, and will just frame stuff like this with a really dark color or black.

Great shot! I like the horse in the background. Great DOF. All the colors compliment each other. -9-

Interesting photo, I love the colors and the horse in the background brings a different element into the photo, you thought outside the box I like that!

i dont care for the cow background. it's a little hard to decipher what it is even with the title. i think just the flowers would have been gorgeous.

The background is just a bit distracting. Is that a pet in a cage? Nice shot otherwise.

excellent use of shallow depth of field... the horse i the background with the fence crosshatching works well :) - setzler

This is a little on the soft side in terms of focus. The horse in the background I don't feel is very suitable background. In terms of the whole pic I don't think it is as effective as it would've been with just a green or sky backdrop

nice effect with the fence and horse meets the challenge well

I think the horse, without just a tiny bit more focus, is distracting. It takes too long to see what it is, and without the title, I never would have known.

The composition here is very nice. Horse should have his head up, but the set up is really nice. The flowers are wonderful, little bit soft of the focus but the colors are really good.

Interesting composition. (fauna and flora in one shot!) The flowers and grass mix in well together, cool colors. The yellow in the border clashes a little.

This picture has some incredible potential. There are a few things that detract, however. That brown/white blob in the background (which looks like a dog or something) is very distracting. The borders are a little thick also. You'd have yourself a great image had it not been for those elements. 6

I think you need the flowers and the horse in focus to make this special.

This is quite a lovely shot of the flowers. I like the focus and clarity and the lighting is wonderful. What bothers me is the background. Had the fence(?) not been there, I think this would have been super great. The fence adds a distraction to me though. Nice color and definately fits in the challenge. The border works well for this image as well. Good luck in the challenge.

I keep coming back to this photo because it's such a pleasant scene... yet there are some things that bother me about it... I'm thinking this would have looked better with more yellow in the foreground, so that the scene didn't split almost exactly in the middle. Also the flowers in the front have some bright white spots on them due to harsh sunlight... too bad you couldn't have the ponies head coming up... I like your DOF though, and your view of this. Getting down and shooting more upwards might have been better too... and although it is small, the (spider?) on the left flower is distracting because you can't tell exactgly what it is and it kind of just looks like a black spot that attracts your eyes. Nice though. -7-

the first thing i noticed when your pic popped up was the out of focus backgrond, then my eyes adjested to the yellow flowers in the foregrond, so to me it looks like thefocal point of this picture is the background it also looks like it has some noise in the backgrond

My poppies! I requested such a shot a few weeks ago. Thanks! I love the slightly unnatural, "waxy" look you've give then, and the horse in the background is a marvelous touch.
