Spent 2 hours with frogs this morning at the Binghamton University Nature Preserve's Vernal Pool. Learned that frogs can occur in all stages at the same time. These fellows set up an occasional chorus - an unforgettable sound that had I not sat still for long I never would have understood. As long as you don't go stomping around and aren't making predatory motions, their quite content to wait for you to take their picture. Hardest thing was trying to get the timing right on the croak--this particular frog does not distend its throat in the middle much--this pic is at the maximum--and you can see it goes to the sides of the froggy.

Made me smile. What a great shot, I like how the frog seems to be in a spotlight (and he's lookin' at me). The glassy smooth water and the sharp lines of the grass make a really interesting frame with great texture. The green color palette is nice.

Closer crop to the frog and the framing greens would have worked better for me, I think. Nice take though.

Very nice image. Great frame! Interesting compostion, with some fine textures. The only flaw for me is the leaves in the background which are a little blown out. <6>
