Background:
In the fall 2002, I created a photo from several single photos from our
flower garden. It was printed at the photo lab, laminated and mounted on wood.
Current:
With the colour challenge, I took the original soft copy of the created
photo and converted the entire image to gray scale. Drew in an oval of what to cut out and printed this new image on a black and white laser printer.
Placed two sided tape on the back of the paper along the oval and cut the center out for a nice clean line. Removed the backside of the tape and aligned the gray oval printout directly on top of the laminated mounted coloured photo.
Now it was just a matter of taking the shot. Tried several but this one was placed in direct sunlight and by closing the window blinds added the dark shading thru the photo.
Hope that is clear enough, if not drop a line - gmacpro@yahoo.ca

Beautiful, perfect shot. The b + w background feels like lace! -The partially bordered oval in the centre is too vivid (obliterating) for my senses, however. |

I like the photo, but I'm really curious as to how you got the picture photo without spot editing. |

very unusual concept. I'm not sure if this is legal, but I don't really care. One of the best photos I've seen for this challenge. Good framing, great idea. |

Intriguing. Are those ripples of the fabric or are they caused by window blinds? |

I find the shadows a little distracting. Maybe if they where crisper or wider, I would have to try different things to see what I like. I do like the color going into the B/W. Maybe making the picture smaller might look better too, but that could be from my huge monitor :-) |

This is a very cool effect, but I have my doubts about it's meeting site rules.
If legal, it's so very cool, it should win. The contrast between the black and white frame and the color photo is just wonderul. I do wonder about the shadow lines, i.e. why? but I like them. Score 10. Rob the Swash |
