 The white dog gets very excited when anyone's around. It jumps all over the place, barking away. The other dog doesn't seem to like company at all and will sit placid, waiting for you to leave.

The chair in the background is distracting. Maybe cropping some on left and bottom to emphisize the face of the white dog would improve the impace to the look on the dog's face.

a little bit of over-exposure on the foreground dog.. composition is nice though, and a little more DOF and tighter shot on the foreground dog could have made this that much better.

Background doesn't help to create a mood. Composition doesn't feel thought out enough for this to not feel like a snapshot.

Although I don̢۪t say this is a bad picture I have scored this low.
Low in my book is not extremely low, but I guess there will be other people thinking the same way I do who don̢۪t leave a comment.
Don̢۪t take this the wrong way, this is my own opinion, and I am trying to let you understand what some voters may think.

In my opinion this does not meet the challenge, the description of the challenge: Take a picture that captures an emotion.
I looked hard, but I don̢۪t see an emotion. This could be my fault, but that̢۪s the reason why I voted lower as I would normaly do.

Cute capture. I like the tilt of the head, looks more to me like, "what are you doing". The leaves on either side of the dog, detract here. As well as the red thing in the back. 7

Waiting for a cue from their master. Dogs are so smart. I guess I just dislike the clutter of the leaves, sticks, red bowl,fence and drain pipe. It causes the whole shot to look busy.
