The detail in the background overpowers the hiker for me. 5

Your model would stand out better if he was wearing a more colorful shirt

It takes a little time to find the hiker in the picture and that is why - I think - this photo doesn't reflect the title "minimalism" well. Moreover the light of midday is too strong. But the composition is succeeded. A red jacket and hat to the hiker and a re-shot iin early morning or late evening - and that's it!

Good shot, really shows how small the hiker is in reference to the nature

Minimalist with the person but rather maximalist with the mountain, anyhow, beautiful photo...

Woah man, what a coincidence. .. I'm watching a Rammstein music video right now and they're climbing up a plateau similiar to yours! :-O

The challenge says the subject should be strong. I had to look to find the hiker.

this photo did not score too well with me, but it is not a bad photo at all i just dont think it fits the theme:
"Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space."
although the person in the bottom left of the frame is what YOU want your subject to be, i think that the hilltops snatch the viewers attentition away from the hiker. some of the rocks also seem a bit overexposed giving the picture a harsh look. sorry but this one got a 5

The mountains seem like the main subject to me, but overall a very nice shot.

This is a difficult shot to pull off. In this lighting all the rocks and scrub make the photo look too busy for my taste and this takes attention away from the subject. It might have worked better had you taken this at sunrise or sunset and had the hiker actively doing something.

you should have put your hiker in a red shirt

Neat shot, but its hard to see the hiker, meaning he does not draw attention very well. Maybe if he had a bright red pull-over on.

I can barely see hiim, and the mountain kinda hurts me eyes, too sharpenned 5

Not a climb that I would want to take. No wonder he's hesitating.

This is a nice image. I really enjoyed the colors seen throughout the entire photograph. Nice work.

How can he hike without a camera? :)
Good composition. Focus is a bit soft. Try the USM after resizing. It really helps.

I find the mountainous background too busy and distracting

In this image, I see the entire image as being important, and by picking the hiker out and saying this is "minimalism" doesn't seem right to me. "Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space." In my mind the "subject" should be the main subject in the image, not just "a subject" in the image. Although this is a fine image, to me, it falls short of the challenge outlines.

It's too bad the hiker wasn't wearing something a tad more colourful. Still, wonderful shot with great composition and the sun is giving off great lighting. :)
