Good control of teh lighting hee.
Soft light and negative space work here, though some reddish details are visible in the background. A little unsure what it actually is, be it a ring or pendant. (5) |

Setting of the pearl is too soft and undefined for a print ad |

I really like the composition of this shot and the lighting is great. However the focus is on the gold, not the pear, which by your title I would assume you were trying to showcase in the ad. |

Its a very striking image, and I think would make a good ad. Although no text is present I can imagine it there (if that makes sense!) |

Wonderful composition and colours/focus on the gold. With the pearl in slightly sharper focus to me this would have been a winner. |

I really like the concept. Focus is a bit soft. |

Well done. I like the placement that leaves room for text. I see tinges of red in the background and I don't know if they were intended or not. |

I like the composition with the item set in the lower left third, and nice bit of negative space. What I think could have been improved upon is the lighting off the pearl. There's quite a nice contrast lighting on the metal, but the pearl appears to be too dark relative to the rest. I suggest perhaps shining a soft light from the top right to create a spotlight like effect, which illuminates the immediate vicinity of the item. This would also aid in grounding the object and thereby give some frame of reference. |

This looks good. I can see this used in a advertisement. Would have liked text however that does not affect my vote. Well done. |

Can't tell really what the jewelry is, its a pretty stone but doesn't have the strong effect i think it could have with a little more light. |

Ok, nice shot. The shadows of the background used are a bit distracting. It would be nice if there was one major reflection on the top of the pearl. The lighting and focus on the gold is good. For this challenge you may take a minor hit for not having any text, especially with all the negative space available. I know, text was not required for this challenge, but I think most voters are going to be looking for some with a photo such as yours. Overall, good job. Good luck. |
