I'm not too fond of this image and don't expect it to do well.
An abandoned house from the Luxembourg steel fabrication company ARCELOR. I couldn't get closer because the was a fence around the territory - I had to shoot thruogh it.

hmm the haze around the roof doesn't work for me on this one I mean it is a good bulding but a bit off somehow.

Good B&W conversion, and good composition ... that halo around the building gets kind of distracting though

Interresting "glow" about the house. Did you obtain that through extensive USM work? Gives the house an eery feeling. Good rich tones to your BW.

Creepy building. What was this at one time?

The halo from excessive contrast/shadow adjustment actually works for you in this, giving it a slightly haunted look. For some strange reason I keep expecting to see Scooby-Doo cowering in a corner somewhere.

The glow around the roof really adds a dramatic aura to the shot.

The sharpening halo is a little distracting. This can be easily cloned out to leave a beautifully detailed building

Too much contrast leaves a white halo around the building ....

Dodge and burn is not allowed in this challenge...
Coming back to see that this was validated, good...but there is still a strange looking halo on roof...

impressive building! Wonder why it had to be validated? Very good point of view - enhances and works with the title.

I can't imagine letting a cool house like that run down!! It looks like it's on cool land, and could be such an awesome place! It looks great in black and white.

Whoa! Look at that halo! I don't care for the look of the sky in this photo. Looks like too much sharpening or some other process.

I like the mood that you've captured here, but the foreground is a bit too distracting, and the halo effect around the roof looks over-processed. Was that a result of the natural lighting or post-processing?

Interesting angle. A bit over-processed. Distracting flower in foreground.

I particularly like the "halo" around the roof. How did you achieve that?

Haunted? What is that glow? Or is that just a little too much manipulation in photoshop?

Some spooky processing there.
