 Horsekids. That's what I call 'em. Sure, my pets include cats as well, but my horses are as tame as dogs. This is my one boarder's Anglo-Arabian stallion ripping it up as the sun goes down. His coat glows at this time of day. That's a birthmark on his shoulder, where hair is missing. He is a delightful boy and a great addition to my family of 3 existing horses. I processed from RAW, blurred the background edges in a vignette and removed some fencing.

This is simply outstanding. The movement of his mane coming away from his neck is realy captivating. His glowing coat is lovely. I've noticed quite a few horse shots lately and this will most certainly be one of my favorites!! Nicely done.

As requested, here's the "before". I ran out of gas on fence removal. Thanks for all the comments. I used the vignette blur to make it a bit more portrait-like and to soften the remaining fence.

WOW! I love it when they RUN! And you get the mane standing up like that! And the colors, the vibrant colors and the expression are priceless! So well done and then you had to go ruin the shot (for me personally) with the blurry edge. It would have been okay in the front and behind the mane and above the back but it's extended into the back and across the bottom and while you might have been trying to create a vinette or sorts it just didn't work for me personally. Is there any chance I could see the original on this one sometime? Hope I didn't offend. An 8

Catching an animal running around would not normally count as "portrait", but since you can hardly sit a horse on a table with some posterboard behind and some carefully placed spotlight, I'll "let you get away with it" this time *g*.

The blur is ok, but I would like to see this photo with the white bar cloned out, and the perhaps the sky a touch bluer (all this coming from a purist *s*).

Beautifully captured, a perfect moment in time, the light couldn't be better - LOVELY SHOT!!! 8

what a beautiful shot! Great subject so well captured. Maybe I would have cropped this closer, but maybe you would have lost some of the power...anyway 9 ...on second thought, i wouldn't have changed anything!

What a shame about the fence! The warm tones and obvious movement gives the image such a sense of freedom and life and then there is the fence :( Not so sure about the blurred vignette(?) that seems to have been added either. Overall it's a pleasant image.
