Thanks for all the comments. I realized the "morning after" the deadline that I had uploaded the wrong file. I had intended to enter the following image . Notice the absence of "marks in the sky?" I wonder how I would have done with the correct image....

The picture was taken with a wide-angle lens and I think a polarizing filter - laying on my back in the middle of the road....

I love the perspective on this photo, did you use a wide angle lens?

Nice picture, but I can see marks on the sky (from post processing)

the haloing in the sky is just too much, and the sky being blue-blue on the right and white behind the trees make this such and oddly manipulated backround that it is hard to focus on the crypt.

This must be the guy who had the most toys. Bump.

A bit of overkill on the sky, but a really nice shot overall

I like the composition here. Find the white sky behind the tree a bit distracting, as the rest of the sky is very blue..maybew it is the blue sky that is the problem-either way...I still like the detail and crispness of the shot.

Very nice, fisheye?

i like the shot but the sky seems over processed, may just be my screen

nice kind of surreal feeling. Maybe its just an illusion but it seems like the masoleum is not quite in the center of the photo. Still, great shot. 8

This is my second go-around =) - Very nice choice for location! I just find it distracting that the right of the photograph is so blue, yet the sky behind the tree is white... they sky does not look real on the right and I find it distracting. Otherwise I think you did a really good job. I also like the angle you took the shot. =)

I am making two passes on this Challenge. I will vote on your photo then return later(before voting is over) to comment on what I like and dislike about your shot. You can take the comments however you wish and I will try not to be mean. Just don't take it the wrong way.

That is elaborate. It looks as if the tree is growing out of the building.

I like the composition. The streaky sky lets it down, cloning out something?
03/28/2005 03:48:46 PM
I like this photo but I'm not crazy about the vertical banding in the sky.
03/28/2005 10:25:01 AM
nice perspective and good subject but the sky is out of "whack" and moreover the shot isn't straight...needed to do a free transform in ps and then crop more on the right

i like your base image, but your dodging and burning is very uneven. this might be a good time (and a good image) to revisit your post processing and work on it until you are able to produce the images you are after. if you want some tips, let me know.

this is excellent - except for the painted sky - too blotchy
