Hanoverian horse in his paddock...took this in late afternoon (one of many, many tries)..
cloned out a small area of background on left which was a little dark and distracting. used a little more contrast, then: I decided it needed more punch and I proceeded to check out a couple of filter effects, when I tried the watercolor with a size 12 brush, I knew that was the effect I was looking for in this shot. Despite the fact that I had read that use of filters was not looked upon well in a challenge, it didn't matter to me..the result was what was important.

I don't like much filtering use on images but this one seems to be nicely done...

I personally don't care for the composition of this shot, to close for my taste and the white in the upper right hand corner is distracting.

A nice photo of the horse's face and eye. The mane on the left looks like it was singed with fire. I cant tell if that is real, or if it is just bad pixelation on a blown up image. Lighting is a bit dark on mid to upper right.

Just a bit dark. Very nice composition but I would have liked to see a little more light bounced onto the horses front. You may have been going for a moody low key shot....but I think more light is still in order. Also, whats up with the horses mane? Did you use some kind of weird filter? hmmm. I would have liked to see it sharp and natural.

Bad selection of the background.. you have messed up the horse's hair ( on the left side of the picture ).. try selecting and then feather it to make is smoother.. or blur your selected area ( the mask )

the hair looks very distorted on my monitor

a lot of noise in the mane. Too shadowed to work well for stock. Nice capture though

Would have been a great shot, why use the filter? Most stock agencies want photos, 5.
