This was a winner at first glance and its only defect is the missing accolade of a ribbon. A masterful shot with an ambience that soars to the heavens. Good work Xion, you are certainly a potent force here at DPC. Congratulations on your top 5 finish.

I wish I could vote on this challenge to give your photo the 10 I think it deserves. Wonderful detail of the feathers brought out by the light. Just a fantastic shot. I already added it to my favorites. Good luck.

Absolutely beautiful. The negative space gives the bird freedom. I love the details on its feathers. Rule of thirds makes it perfect. Good luck!

what an amazingly beautiful image. i only know of three people who would have submitted an image such as this, and if you aren't on my faves list, you probably soon will be. thanks for sharing such an incredible capture. to me, this image captures the essence of photography: capturing an instance of reflected light. even if this doesn't score well, it is images like this that hopefully will start to blow the doors off around here!

The title matches the photo perfectly. You've got a nice double meaning here. The shot may have had even more impact had it been in color.
