 Hung the ping pong ball from the ceiling with some black thread. Took this picture using the time delay on the camera. The fact that the ball lined up with my face was not planned. When I saw the shot I knew I had to use it! The Ping pong ball actually had 3 stars in a V shape. I cloned out the middle one to make it look like a face and cloned out the thread. Cropped and Sharpened. After all the discussion about what is Bokeh I am not sure if this satisfies the theme. I hope everyone enjoys the picture none-the-less.

a clever idea for a shot, but I think there is too much red and the blur or out of focus is way to strong.

Interesting to see BOTH foreground & background elements out of focus. But I'm not convinced that makes it bokeh. And I'm afraid I don't believe the ball at all. 5.

I see the humor with the ball positioning, and maybe you were adding some anonymity as well - but in this case I think it detracts. I mean, I love this shot - it's very well done, except the ball placement is too artificial and for me it wrecks the illusion.

I can see this is validated so I know this is authentic but the problem with the "ball" is that in my opinion it looks too fake, it´s lit too differently from the backround to make it work. Keep in mind that I am not saying I could do better, I can´t but then again I would not submit a shot that looks like this.

Other than that it´s a decent shot, nice composition and colours, I gave it a 5.

I think this shot is awsome!! A very unique approach to the challenge, an excellent idea and a wonderful job doing it.
This would have been a sure ribbon for the "Hidden Faces" challenge.

Superb idea! Somehow the photo looks like the ball is just pasted into a blurred image, but the idea is so good I'm giving it a 7 anyway.
