He looks sad doesn't he?
I took this on a freakishly warm day in January. There was a lady passing out bread crumbs so the birds didn't go far when I tried to sneak up on them.
As far as editing, I just played around with contrast and cropping.

Ehemm.... I am pretty sure that is a goose, not a duck but what the hell do I know, not a birdlover :o).

Anyway just an average shot, not bad but not good either, I like the placement of the goose in the frame but also I would have liked to see a wider shot with more to the right of him/her.

I like it except for the square crop.

Technically fantastic shot!
Sharpness is fantastic, colors are great, the composition is very good also.
Its missing SOMETHING that keeps me from giving it a 9, i think that the shot is not wide enough, chopping off the birds on the right hand side.....8

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." We do see that here, though its much more just out of focus background. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Yes. Even still, I don't find that this shot grabs or inspires me.
