Nice angle. B/W fits the subject well. The title though..eh ?

nice shot

The B&W works well in this picture.
05/02/2002 03:51:00 PM
Good use of B&W. Conveys strength. Nice DOF.

industrial/metallic shots are a favorite for me. that you chose springs is also a hit in terms of ingenuity. technically the detail is great. b&W is a good choice, too. the starkness of contrast helps to say how crucial it is to stay united. lovely overall. high marks.

Since you had to do it from the ground up (couldn't shoot from the side), I'd have made the trinity more balanced. Really good tones here. Probably won't score well, but I like it.

Not sure what those are. They look like really big springs. The tonal range is nice...but I wish you hadn't cut off the right side, and I think a little more depth of field so that the top of whatever-that-is was in focus would improve it.

I really can't tell if this is looking up or down.

Who'd have thought a train would look so good in black and white?
(At least I think its part of a train!)

Like the b&w and the crisp focus.

Interesting picture. I like the tone of the B&W.

what is this, the quality is good, and it meets the challenge, but i can't figure it out - achiral

Major springs! Nice work.

i don't know what this is, but i'll make a guess that it's a spring suspension on a rail car maybe? i do see that the camera is pointing upwards but i don't think this is a strong interpretation of the challenge idea...

I really like this picture but i don't know what I'm looking at so I can't tell if it even fits the subject.

Nice focus. Black and white works well here. What is it?
04/29/2002 06:39:00 AM
I really like this image. I like the texture and feel of it. good job.
04/29/2002 06:14:00 AM
A strong image, good composition.

I have no idea what this is. A more aptly titiled title would have helped me here.
Good photo though.

too tight on the right, too lose on the left, framing is just a bit off. Interesting subject for a black & white, probably better straight on, (but then doesn't meet the challenge)
04/29/2002 04:01:00 AM
Nice use of black and white.
04/28/2002 09:41:00 PM
railroad car springs?
04/28/2002 08:30:00 PM
I think I would have choosen a deeper DOF to bring the edges more into focus.
