Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Best of 2004 (Advanced Editing III*)
Camera: Kodak DX7630
Location: Kos island, Greece
Date: Aug 8, 2004
Aperture: 4,8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/90
Galleries: Science and Technology, Astrophotography
Date Uploaded: Jan 1, 2005

Between many photographs, I chose this one as my best of 2004. Kodak DX 7630 was attached to the 25mm eyepiece of my catadioptric telescope (Celestron C8) and the result is a view of moon's surface as seen from a spacecraft approximately 1600km above.
I enjoy astrophotography as much as I enjoy observing the night sky and I am glad to share this photo here.
And of course, I wish I could have a permission to land!

Not often we get a shot where the moon more than fills the frame ... very nice effect.

I would love to know how you got this. I can't imagine it is an actual photograph of the moon. If it is it is awesome.

Looks of detail captured here. Has a bit of a red tint, may be better in b/w. 7
